New Year, New Horizons

How are you all feeling this new year? I hope that your Christmas holiday was filled with family and friends and that you are all ready to experience 2014. Have you given some thought to what’s ahead so you’ll know how to prepare yourself? I have, and I’d like to share my quick thoughts with you on what I look forward to this year; it might help you come up with your own plans.

A New High at Work

Calgary is already an exciting place to buy and sell homes, and everyone is saying 2014 will be another great year! I’ve been in real estate for nearly four decades, so my business is largely based on past clients and referrals. And I do look forward to helping them as well as meeting new clients that I can assist in their real estate needs, as there are more than a million people now in Calgary from all over the world, and counting!

Special Time to Recharge and Be with My Family

We all need some time to step back from our work to breathe more deeply and fuel up. I do that best with my family. I can feel a lot of excitement in the air as we plan where to go this year. Last year, we went to the Maritimes to visit my nieces and nephews. It was a fun two weeks. This year, we’ll be spending a week in Palm Springs. I’m sure my wife is as excited about it as I am. I am also looking forward to going back to the places we love most, like the lovely resort town city of Puerto Vallarta down in Mexico’s Bahia de Banderas and seeing my family in Edmonton as well as in the Maritimes. I’ll bring my camera, of course, so I can take some spectacular pictures to share with you!

Something Fun and New — and Helpful

I’m all fired up this year to continue supporting the business my wife and daughter started. They hatched up a brilliant plan last year to build a website that would provide real estate agents job assistance without the costs of an assistant. This allows the agents to focus on selling homes and not sweat the small stuff. If you want more information regarding how it works, please visit You-Get-Real.com. Last year, I focused on helping out in setting up the business, and I look forward to it gaining more traction this year.

I hope you got some good ideas here on how to plan your year. Whatever you come up with, just remember that it’s bound to be great if you keep positive, do the things you love most, and have the ones you love most close by!
